Vic: Victorian cabinet reshuffle expected
Several Victorian government ministers are set to lose their positions in a reshuffleof the Labor line-up, with a number of second-term MPs expected to be rewarded with promotionsto the frontbench.
Labor factions are already poring over the likely cabinet candidates.
But sources say Premier STEVE BRACKS is likely to be given a free hand to shape theministerial line-up after leading Labor to its greatest ever election victory.
Mr BRACKS spent today catching up on business in his office and is expected to announcethe frontbench line-up and allocate portfolios by Thursday.
A number of second-term MPs have emerged as likely promotions, including Mitcham MPTONY ROBINSON -- credited with starting the swing to Labor in the eastern suburbs withhis 1997 by-election win.
Ministers expected to face the chop include Gaming Minister JOHN PANDAZOPOULOS, EnvironmentMinister SHERRYL GARBUTT and Community Services Minister CHRISTINE CAMPBELL.
